UFO: The Making of a Myth? is my first non-fiction book. It is a critical review of the fledgling field of Ufology – the study of UFOs. I’ve been keenly interested in the subject of UFOs since I was a child, but it wasn’t until later in life that I began a serious study of the field. No, I don’t call myself a Ufologist – no such person exists. And that is the point of this book. However, many people claim to study UFOs, but do they really? Many people claim to see UFOs, but what are they really seeing? I discuss the field from a scientific perspective, provide an overview of what has gone on in the field, the main events, as well as what hasn’t happened that perhaps should’ve happened. The book isn’t another defence of UFOs or makes any claims about them being extraterrestrial. But it does encourage further research into what could be the most profoundly important event in all of human history.
